A younger generation in America is advocating for socialism. It is my personal belief that we are witnessing a socialist revolution in our country, led by students on college campuses. While this is not a new philosophy emerging from colleges and universities, this generation seems particularly passionate about it.

Once, colleges and universities in America had order. But now, it seems that some staff members at these institutions are promoting communist disorder more than love for America. I believe that this movement will eventually break our economic system, and destroy the fabric of our society.

The Dangers of Socialist Leadership

First we can highlight the dangers of having a socialist leader in charge, which can lead to the reallocation of wealth driven by class envy. This is a problem in the US, where people believe they should have money, even if they don’t earn it, leading to the burden of taxes falling on the other fifty percent. The rise of entitlements has resulted in some people having no responsibility while others carry a heavy burden. Government takeover leads to revolutionary changes, with regulators taking over corporations, healthcare, and taxation, which is incompatible with American ideals of freedom.

Freedom and Socialism Are Incompatible

Socialism and government takeover eliminate choices and discretionary money, taking away individual freedom. The government has been set up to protect the inalienable rights of Americans, and freedoms are related to how many choices one has with what is theirs. When the government tells businesses how to run, pay their employees, and regulate them to the gills, it takes away individual freedom. Mandates on who to hire has also led to the most deserving employee not being hired or promoted. The rise of taxes leads to the systematic elimination of freedoms seen in Europe and Canada. Liberty and socialism are incompatible since all forms of socialism involve the government reallocating wealth through control.

Loss of Control

With socialist leadership, power becomes concentrated in the hands of those in leadership positions, including bureaucrats who make decisions about how much people have, spend, and pay in taxes. This leads to the limitation of people’s control, with the government becoming the protector of all things. Eventually, everything gets filtered through the government, leading to a confiscation of freedom. People are losing control over the choices they make in businesses, salaries, healthcare, wages, property, and spending. The government becomes the protector of people from credit card abuse and employer abuse, leading to a loss of individual control.

Confiscation of Freedom

The rise of socialism and government takeover is a confiscation of freedom. With the government becoming the decision-maker in all aspects of life, people lose their freedom to make choices. This is not emotionally involved; it is a fact. People had more freedom in the past, but they are losing control to the government. We are seeing this more in more with how we even receive our information, and what can be said online. Christians and Conservatives alike have been silenced by the media, and absolute truths that was the glue for society has eroded away.

The Need for Responsible Leadership

Highlighted also is the need for responsible leadership that ensures the protection of individual rights and liberties. The US Constitution has set up the government to protect individual inalienable rights. The rise of socialist leadership puts individual rights and freedoms in danger. There is a need for responsible leadership that ensures that people retain control over their lives and that the government is not given too much power. People need to understand who is in charge of everything and work towards preserving their freedoms.
